The Agency
Tina began her real estate career after her daughters had passed their formative years. Within one year of starting at RE/MAX in Charlotte, Tina ranked within the top 100 agents in three states. Tina enjoyed working with RE/MAX in the Southpark area, but she lived (and still does) in the historic district of Gastonia. Tina has a true passion for historic homes and the development of downtown Gastonia. This led her to create her own company here in Gastonia, Tina Smith Realty. In 2008, when the real estate market slowed, Tina found that many of her sellers were unable to sell their homes and were facing foreclosure. At that point, she divided the company to include Tina Smith Property Management. With this step, she was able to rent some of her clients’ homes and help them avoid foreclosure. This side of the business progressed from creation to smooth operation within six months.
Tina Smith Realty maintains a philosophy of going “above and beyond.” Our agents and staff will do whatever possible to ensure that your transaction, whether you are buying or selling a home, is timely, efficient, and convenient for you. We serve our clients as we would want to be served; you’ll find our staff to be friendly, courteous, and respectful. Integrity and honesty are of the utmost importance. Truth is the basis of all relationships, and without that, we could not maintain any of our client relationships. Trust is something that all of us strive to earn and keep! All agents and staff are held to the Realtor Code of Ethics, and Tina only hires people that she knows would hold themselves accountable to this standard.
To better serve you, our clients, we use the latest technology on the market, both in our office and our marketing. We stay on the cutting edge – this lets us sell your house or help you find that special place much more quickly and efficiently. For example, when we began the property management side of the business, we immediately invested in a state-of-the-art tenant management program, streamlining the process for all involved. This philosophy allows us to complete your transaction with the least expense and the most profit for you!
We’re normal, down-to-earth people, and we invite you to come to the office! Southern hospitality abounds! Whatever your need, we’ll find a way to meet it. Remember, we work for you.
Tina Smith
Tina was born into a farming family with very meager beginnings – no air conditioning, no dishwasher, and she and her four siblings had to walk one mile to simply catch the bus to school. However, one thing that has always defined Tina is both her desire to help people and her willingness to work as hard as it takes to accomplish the task at hand. The light in her office is often on at ten o’clock at night.
What truly sets Tina apart from others in the real estate industry is her sincere and compassionate view of her clients. Clients often leave their real estate transaction feeling like extended family members, and Tina loves this. She wouldn’t have it any other way. She gets so many shower and birthday invitations that she can’t keep up with them!
Tina has been married to Marty for over twenty years. She met him while she was working her way through college as a dormitory resident’s assistant. They have two daughters, Rachel and Mandy. Rachel just graduated from the University of Arkansas, cum laude, on a soccer scholarship. Like her mother, Rachel has a talent for creativity and is now interning at Michael Kor’s in New York City. Mandy just finished her freshman year at the University of Arkansas, also on scholarship, with a GPA of 3.75.
Nicole Morton
Nicole was born and raised in upstate NY and relocated to Charlotte with her husband, Dan, in November of 2005. After renting briefly, they began their home search and came across Tina Smith’s yard sign. After purchasing their home in Northwest Charlotte, Tina hired Nicole as her full time assistant. Over 3 years later, Nicole is the office listing/closing coordinator and most recently has branched out to leasing agent for Tina Smith Property Management.
Nicole enjoys going to North Myrtle beach whenever possible, being at home with her husband, their two dogs, Cisco and Maggie, and their cat, Hailey, and going home to upstate NY to see family and friends.
“I love meeting new people, seeing all the growth in the area, especially in downtown Gastonia, and never knowing exactly what the day may bring. I feel like I am exactly where I need to be.” - Nicole
Marty Smith
Marty owns his own company, Smith’s Claim Service. He provides repair appraisals for both cars and heavy equipment. Marty now balances his time between his business and the property managment side of the company! Marty is laid-back and loves sports, especially baseball.
Jackie Currence
A native of Gaston County, moved out of the area to Washington DC where I lived for over thirty-five years. While during my stay in Washington I worked several positions from the FBI to Fanny Mae to selling furniture and interior decorating. During the last fifteen plus years the real estate industry has been my focus. Actually, I happened into the Real Property business from a referral by someone who thought I would be great at it. While in the sales/marketing business at the time I thought why not. I met with my soon to be employer for a breakfast meeting on Capital Hill and from that day I was in the real estate business and have remained in it ever since with a total of over twenty-three years.
After a year of moving back to the Carolinas I reactivated my real estate license and signed under another local real estate company. After a few other changes I arrived at Tina Smith Realty, LLC. Working with Tina and the family is proving to be quite rewarding. My real estate is enhanced by other Management positions worked over the last seven years and collectively makes me better professionally and benefits my clients. My philosophy in this business is a satisfied client is a referral right around the corner. That is why I keep my clients needs first and thus most of them become long term friends. My knowledge of the other Metropolitan/Urban areas helps with people who are relocating to Charlotte Metro area. I can help them associate geographically to where they are moving from. This to some of my clients has been a huge asset.
I also have strong awareness of the foreclosure market. Helping first time Buyers get really good deals on their first homes. Educating them on how to think of it as their spring board to becoming future real property portfolio owners. I maintain a clientele of investors because of my foreclosure knowledge too.
I look forward to working with you on your first, second or dream home!
